Starlight Sesame is a celebration of the festival of 'Sankrant’ in India, which marks the Sun’s transit from Sagittarius to Capricorn. The scent opens with bergamot and narcissus petals. Sesame CO2 is suspended on a pillow of tonka. A jaggery (raw sugar) accord with the glow of labdanum and honey envelopes you with a gentle hug -like a bright sun in the wintery season.
“For me, sesame is synonymous with Sankrant, a joyous festival held each January. It is celebrated with bonfires, with flying kites, and with song and dance. Traditionally, on this day, sweets made with sesame and jaggery (raw sugar) are shared with one and all. Smiles abound. My composition paints a picture of Sesame, a symbol of abundance, warmth, and joy.”
Starlight Sesame starts off nutty and then dries down to a sweet fragrance. I couldn’t stop sniffing myself. It’s truly a unique fragrance and very much Anjali’s DNA of well blended notes. LOVE!
The scent itself does smell good but nothing unique IMO. I was really hoping to get sesame (why I bought it) and I can’t really find it. I’ll still use it occasionally and will continue my search for a sesame scent.
I went thru my 5ml at record speed and upgraded to a 30ml. It's cozy, nutty, intriguing, and soft while having good projection. Anjali created something special!
I enjoy this scent more on the dry down where it becomes a little more honey tobacco. I was excited to try this scent because I adore the smell of sesame but there wasn't as much of a nutty sesame note as I had hoped. Nevertheless, this is enjoyable and had good longevity on my skin.
This is a fresh one. It's hard to put your nose on any one scent at first. The honey here has a saliva smell, so it's not my favorite type (not a note that everyone can smell, but if you know, you know). After about an hour, it starts reminding me of Daisy by Marc Jacobs with a grapefruit note. Since I'm not a Daisy fan, this one's really not for me, but someone will love it.
