This delicious gourmand fragrance is inspired by the Dutch waffle cookie Stroopwafel, with notes of vanilla, caramel, baked waffle with wood and smoke. Wrapped in Gezellig; an untranslatable atmosphere that encompasses Dutch culture and includes feelings of coziness and ambiance that is inviting, friendly, sociable, comfortable, and convivial.
“Gezellig” is a very Dutch concept, which means an inviting and friendly ambiance, and doesn’t really have an English-language equivalent word. The fragrance is inspired by my years living in Amsterdam, and I’m picturing enjoying coffee and stroopwafels in a 17th century canal house. There are tulips on the table and the old oakwood floors have just been polished. There’s a cool North Sea breeze outside, but inside it’s cozy and warm in front of the fireplace.”

I received a sample of this fragrance and it definitely took me by surprise. The name threw me off a bit thinking it would be somewhat cloying and simple in that it would be overly sweet and adolescent. I could not have been more wrong. This scent starts out with salted caramel and vanilla: middle notes are whimsical with musk and baked oatmeal and the dry down seems to be where all the magic happens. It's smokey and complex with charred vanilla and caramel. Such a "grown-up" sophisticated vanilla gourmand. I ended up purchasing a bottle and the travel size for an upcoming trip to Scotland. This fragrance screams "where me in Fall/Winter"... I love it so much...
Sweet and gourmand forward with very subtle incense aroma by the end of the day.

I adore this scent! I have many very expensive viral gourmands and Stroopwafel stands with them all, and in some cases exceeds them. It is sweet and edible without being cloying, but also has other notes that make it a work of art. The longevity was excellent and Iasted a good 8 hours plus. Highly recommend!
