Tanaïs
Ingredient Focus:
Marigold (Tagetes erecta)
Provenance:
Mysore, India
Notes:
Salt Water, Saffron, Rose Petals, Carnation, Tagetes, Cedar, Sandalwood, Musk
At the heart of this composition is an accord of sacred South Asian flowers that commemorate life, love and death — marigold, rose and carnation — notes abloom a base of sandalwood, saltwater, coastal pine and musk, recalling the river mouths releasing in the Bay of Bengal. Saffron threads, as iconic as marigold blooms, offer a wisp of Kashmiri spice to this watery, woody, floral summer monsoon perfume.
"Bound by a love of psychedelic color palettes, sensuous botanicals and inspirations drawn from their respective motherlands, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, this is the first collaboration between Tanaïs, a novelist and author of the forthcoming essay collection IN SENSORIUM. and the visual artist Shyama Golden."
Released July 2020 as part of the Supernatural Future Collection
Beautiful! Photorealistic marigold and perfect in every way… pair with Saffron to add a little heat!
I absolutely love this perfume. Savory, creamy, vegetal. There is nothing else like it.
I was looking for a true marigold perfume and so glad I found this. For me it is lovely. It’s strong, beautiful, interesting. No typical perfume notes, no annoying pink pepper, musk, Oud, vanilla, etc. I don’t care if anyone else likes it around me. This is what I want to smell all day.
has all of my favorite florals, and it smells so pretty! would like to eventually upgrade from the traveler
It's horrible! I don't know why it has 5 started. This scent is so bad :(
