Labdanum
Sydney Buffman
PROVENANCE:
NOTES:
Bergamot, Salt, Ginjinha Accord, Coastal Wildflowers, Spectral Labdanum, Amber Facets, Incense, Blackened Woods, Ambergris
After all this time
the midday sun still activates
the sticky resins of the rock roses.
Their syrupy vapor envelops crumbling rocks
where dinosaurs once splayed their giant feet
Like a palette knife dragging paint
A memory of a sip of Ginjinha on the tongue
Which has never known thirst.
Warmed clusters of pollen cling to the legs of bees
Sifting through honeyed wildflowers. Petals gently releasing
In the warm ocean breeze
Which carves and sculpts dramatic cliffs
With tiny crystals of salt like chisels
Emoceans like water are home to elegant whales
Singing the ancient songs of their ancestors.

this is my top 5 favourite Scent Trunk Original Edition. I am a fan of warm, woody scent and this one reminds me of medieval time travelling. I especially love its smoky undertone when the top notes dissipate. I would definitely consider buying a full size now.
Labdanum is a favorite perfume ingredient for me so I was excited to order this. I bought it in the warmer months and when I tested it I was sorely disappointed. The heat and humidity of summer amplified the smoked woods to the point of smelling burnt and drowning out everything else. BUT I stashed it away, assuming colder weather would do the fragrance justice and boy oh boy was I right. The cold, dry air gives the composition room to breathe and it's absolutely stunning. A faintly sweet, smoky, salty, floral that's kaleidoscopic and gorgeous.
